Location: Jobbágytelke (Sambrias or Simbrias) village, Mures county, Romania.

You can reach the village from Târgu Mures (33 km) or Sovata (36 km) or Reghin (44 km). Map

Activities/Special Events:

-Dance teaching (dances from Jobbágytelke, Péterlaka, Nyárádmente): daily for starting and experienced dancers, children and adults
-Dance teachers: Csaba László, Zsolt László, Elemér Kádár, Ildikó László Bartha and Enikő Ágnes Burszán
-Folksong teaching („Nyárádmente” region songs): taught by Magda Kásler
-Folk music tuition (fiddle, viola and base): the Péterlaki musicians, under the guidance of András Sinkó
-Music provided by the Péterlaki band, Bekecs band, Csalóka band, Öves band and informant village musicians
-„Táncház” (Dancehouse) every night with the participation and performance from legacy-keeper village groups and informant village dancers, musicians and singers
-Special guests: Dersch Quartet , Pipacsok Dancegroup
-Ethnographical lectures
-Presentation/showcasing of traditional folk professions, local handicraft production and village activities and functions (straw weaving, straw hat sawing, blacksmith work, cowmilking, harvesting and breadbaking)
-Full-time handicraft workshop (planking, woodcarving, leather and hide work, beading, mat making, batik painting, layfigure making and weaving) under the guidance of Emese Moldován
-In the village and surrounds there will be opportunities for ethnographical data collection
-Photographical exhibition
-Ethnographical film screenings
-Quiz games
-Village museum
-Fair/market-style entertainment, histrionics
-Fairytale story telling
-A wide variety of entertaining complementary activities
-Day-trip to the „Esztena”, meeting with local shepherds, erection of „kopjafa” (precisely carved totem sticks erected to honour an event or person, traditionally at the funeral of people, instead of a gravestone), campfires
-Folk-shebang or folk-pub with music till dawn.  Good atmosphere ensured by the Csalóka Band
-Surprises


Homely, Transylvanian environment and warm village ambience awaits the visitors.  This camp, being based on the time-honoured dances, music, folk-customs and handicraft heritage of the „Nyárádmente” region, will sure acquaint all attendees with the intellectual and traditional cultural values of the region. 

We warmly welcome individuals, couples or groups regardless of age or any prior experience.

Lodging/Food:

-Three main meals daily (vegeterians also caterd for).  On the menu there will be traditional village dishes, events such as „ökörsütés” (ox roasting), „disznótor” (festive pork-feast), smoked spec- frying at the campfire, and delicacies from the furnace
-Lodgement in tents (if you bring your own), or, for a nominal fee, at families (if you request this at the time of your application)
-Hot water shower facilities
-Children’s activities.  A play-house will be operating during most day-time adult activities where children will have the chance to develop aural-, rhythmic-, handcraft-, personal- and social skills through adventures, all while playing traditional village children’s games.
-Medical supervision
-Secure luggage storage

Additional/complemetary activities in your leisure time:

-Horse-riding
-Horse-cart rides
-Archery
-Swimming (Medve lake, near Szováta, the Nyárád river or the near-by Nádasdi lake)
-There will also be some organized day trips to surrounding places of interest
